Australian Gemma Louise Donhou currently lives in Cornwall, England, where she recently made an unexpected friend for life.
Gemma was waiting for the bus when she encountered 91-year-old Edna. They started talking—and the rest, as they say, is history.
Gemma wrote about the meeting with 91-year-old Edna and the friendship that immediately began to flower in a recent Facebook post.
“We started talking and she told me how she was just going into town for something to do,” Gemma wrote.
Gemma was devastated when Edna told her how lonely she feels after her husband of 55 years passed away.
“It broke my heart thinking of this cute little old lady all alone with no one to talk to so I asked for her number so I could come visit her for a cup of tea,” Gemma wrote on Facebook.
And she did. Gemma went over for a cup of tea, Edna took her first selfie, and now the two are friends for life. So nice!
The story of this unexpected friendship has touched thousands of people on Facebook. Please share if you were also moved by Gemma and Edna’s story!
