Simon Cowell addresses rumors of a ‘mystery illness’ after missing ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ filming

Simon Cowell is setting the record straight after rumors began to swirl he had come down with a “mystery illness.”

The America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent judge recently missed filming of the latter, which led to the speculation.

“I just found out according to the internet, I have a “mystery illness,” he wrote on Instagram.

Cowell, 64, filled worried fans in on the reason for his absence.

“For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights,” he wrote alongside a photo of him wearing rose-colored glasses.

According to a source, the television personality “occasionally gets migraines from being under the bright filming lights for long stretches.” In an attempt to prevent a debilitating attack, Cowell wears tinted glasses.

“He’s in fantastic health, better than ever and great fitness too, is biking and walking a lot every day and has started reformer Pilates for strengthening his back,” the source told People. “All his friends are telling him to bring out a range of his own light-filtering glasses now to help others.”

The source said any rumor that Cowell “exited the show” or suffered from an “illness” were “maliciously exaggerated” and “complete nonsense.”

While we’re glad to hear Simon Cowell isn’t suffering from a “mystery illness,” we’re sad to hear he suffers from migraine. Migraine is a complex disorder that is not just a headache and can be extremely debilitating to those who have it.
