The secret no doctor will reveal: Here’s how you get rid of your cold in 25 seconds

Fall has swept in and we all know what that means: flu season.

It seems like it makes no difference how many times you wash your hands or how much you keep away from tight spaces packed with people, sooner or later you’re always hit with it full force. It’s just a part of the season.

But walking around sniffling and wiping your nose at work isn’t helping you get ahead. So it’s a good thing that there are two tricks that claim to make you breathe clearly again — in just 25 seconds!

Yes, maybe it’s too good to be true, but I for one am ready to give it a shot. A runny, blocked or red nose, and just generally feeling like a wreck because of a drawn out cold is never fun.

In a clip that’s been viewed nearly 8 million times on YouTube, we discover two tips that can make you breathe freely again without the use of addictive nasal sprays.

1. Press and Acupuncture

The first trick is to create a pressure that makes your palette move itself, which then clears the nose.

So how do you do it? Press the top of your tongue against the roof of your mouth and release after a second.

Right after that you should press your fore finger and middle finger between your eyebrows and then let go after a second again.

Repeat both steps — press your tongue, press your fingers, press your tongue, press your fingers — for another 20 seconds. That’s how you avoid a blocked nose!

2. Hold your breath

The second tip is to hold your breath. This works because your brain feels that you’re not getting any air, which is where your survival instincts kick in and clear your nostrils so you can breathe. Impressive, right?

So how does it work? Just tip your head back, pinch your nose with your thumb and fore finger and hold your breath as long as you can. But do make sure to let go as soon as you get uncomfortable and need to breathe.
