19 Brilliant Baking Soda Tricks That Everyone Should Know.

To be honest, I never used to use baking powder that often. But after doing a little research online, I can feel that things are about to change… I knew baking powder is good to have around for when you bake, but I had no idea about all of these other uses. This list has a lot of great tips to make life easier, but number nine (deodorant!) is brilliant and my personal favorite!

1. Itchy insect bites are so irritating, but they don’t have to be. Simply mix up a paste of baking soda and water and apply it on the affected skin. Let it rest for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water. Ta-da! No more itching.


2. Tired feet after a long hike or shopping in town? Mix 3-4 teaspoons of baking soda per gallon of water and enjoy a truly relaxing foot bath.


3. But baking soda isn’t just about soothing your feet. It can also help with their odor. Sprinkle some baking soda in your shoes and you can avoid that stinky foot smell.


4. To help soften peas, beans, and lentils, mix in a little baking soda when you cook them. A teaspoon per liter of water is enough!
