This Is Why You Should Never Make Your Bed Again.

Ever since I was a little kid, my parents has always been nagging on me to make my bed and I’m guessing I would have done the same if I ever got kids of my own. But after reading this I think I’m changing my mind…

Here’s some really good news for everybody that hates to make his or her own bed in the morning. As a matter of fact, it’s even better for you to leave your bed unmade during the days, according to an article in New Zealand Herald.

And this is why: when we sweat and roll around in our beds during the night, our skin is flaking off everywhere in the bed. And the next day when we pull up the sheets and makes our bed, this makes a perfect smorgasbord for the mites living in our bedrooms.

In an average bed it is estimated that as many as 1.5 million microscopic mites are crawling around and they really enjoy living in a newly made bed.

But if you leave your bed unmade during the day the mites gets exposed to fresh air and light, something that makes it much tougher for the small intruders.

– We know that mites can only survive by taking in water from the atmosphere using small glands on the outside of their body, Dr. Stephen Pretlove of Kingston University’s School of Architecture tells New Zeeland Herald.

So, it’s really a perfect idea to leave your bed just the way it is when you wake up in the morning.

– Something as simple as leaving a bed unmade during the day can remove moisture from the sheets and mattress so the mites will dehydrate and eventually die.
