After performing an unforgettable rendition of the United States’ national anthem Monday night, Ingrid Andress made a shocking confession Tuesday.
The country singer revealed she was drunk during her disastrous performance.
“I’m not gonna bullshit y’all, I was drunk last night,” the four-time Grammy nominated artist wrote on her social media accounts Tuesday.
“I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is. I hear it’s super fun.”
Despite the barrage of critical comments on Andress’ performance, the singer-songwriter received countless words of encouragement after announcing she would be heading to rehab.
“The honesty of this comment is going to help a lot of people be honest with themselves. Nashville is behind you and we are all sending love ?”
“I saw you live at Alanis a few weeks ago and you def did not sound how you did last night. You are an amazing song writer/singer! Your comeback will be your story ❤️ you got this!”
“You’ve owned it, now you’re taking responsibility. Here’s to overcoming!”
“All your fans are here for you and love you. We’ll be here waiting for you and can’t wait to see and hear you again! You’ve got this! ???”
