Bruce Springsteen has seen and done it all over the course of his legendary career, and he can now add ‘falling over mid-concert’ to that extensive list.
As per reports, the 73-year-old took a terrifying tumble during the current leg of his world tour in the Netherlands at the weekend.
Radar Online say the Born to Run star was mid-set at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam when he misstepped on his way back onto the stage and ended up lying flat on his back, much to the concern of his audience.
Springsteen and the E Street Band were performing his 2020 hit “Ghosts” when the incident occurred. The Thunder Road singer even had to be helped back to his feet by a nearby stage manager.
Like the born performer he is, Springsteen was quick to make light of the situation, quipping “Goodnight, everybody!” before grabbing his guitar and continuing the show.
As per reports, the New Jersey born icon didn’t suffer any serious injuries due to the fall, but that didn’t stop concert-goers from expressing genuine concern
One fan wrote: “Oh no! That attempt to get up made me remember the Boss IS an old man!”
“Bruce Springsteen took a nasty fall during a concert in Amsterdam on Saturday but was able to finish the rest of the concert,” a second tweeted.
“Did any see Bruce Springsteen fall on stage , he very easily could have broken an ankle, Sh*t happens, its life,” a third chimed.
Fortunately, it seems as though Springsteen avoided any sort of lasting trouble. Not only was he able to finish the show in Amsterdam, but he played in Edinburgh yesterday.
Springsteen is scheduled to visit Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland before returning to the U.S. in August.
