Actor Julian Sands’ cause of death revealed four weeks after his body was found in California wilderness

Julian Sands’ cause of death has been ruled “undetermined.”

The latest update comes four weeks after the the 65-year-old British actor’s remains were found on California’s Mount Baldy, where the actor had been missing since January 13.

Sands’ cause of death was “undetermined due to the condition of the body and this is common when dealing with cases of this type,” an officer from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department told People.

The actor, best known for his role in 1985’s A Room with a View, was reported missing by his wife on January 13 after he failed to return home from a solo hike in the San Gabriel Mountains.

Search and rescue teams were deployed, but inclement weather often made it difficult for crews to do their jobs.

Nearly one month after his disappearance, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department public information officer Gloria Huerta, told People that while they remain “hopeful,” they “know the outcome may not be what we would like.”
