Bad Bunny left message “for America” on football during Super Bowl halftime show – here’s what it said

There was no small amount of anticipation before Bad Bunny stepped out to deliver the Super Bowl halftime show last night.

The fact that the 31-year-old was chosen for the honor was a contested issue in and of itself. Turning Point USA aired their own “All American” halftime show, doing their utmost to convince people to boycott Bad Bunny’s performance and watch the likes of Kid Rock instead.

Yet regardless of your prior views on Bad Bunny, and irrespective of the fact that his entire show was in Spanish, only the most determined detractors can today claim that he didn’t put on a stirring show.

The Puerto Rican promised his performance would be a “huge party”, and it was, featuring appearances from the likes of Lady Gaga and Pedro Pascal.

Now that the dust has settled on Super Bowl LX, there are all sorts of details that viewers might have missed as it was happening.

Needless to say, there were a whole lot of moments during Bad Bunny’s show that left fans with questions, including what was written on the American football he had clutched under his arm?

On social media, one viewer asked: “Can anyone can tell me what was clearly written on the ball that Bad Bunny held up?? Because I know it was political as heck.”

It turns out the ball did have a message written on it, and it was one Bad Bunny kept to himself until his set had ended.

Surrounded by dancers carrying flags from an array of countries around the world, Bunny – real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – eventually held up the ball and its message for people to see.

It read: “Together We Are America.”

The words: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love” were also prominent on the screen behind the artist as he was performing.

Given the backlash from some political figures in the U.S., it was refreshing to see Bad Bunny delivering a message of unity.

President Donald Trump, on the other hand, was none too pleased with the halftime show itself.

“It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,” Trump said.

“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.

“This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day – including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!

“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD – And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
