A teenage boy who became a father aged just 12 has been dealt a court order banning him from sleepovers with his girlfriend.
Readers may recognize Hunter Johnson (now 14) and his 15-year-old girlfriend, Bella Vaughn, if they’re regular watchers of the TLC reality series Unexpected.
The young couple appeared on the show last month, and it’s safe to say their story garnered a whole lot of attention. The show itself claims to offer a “raw look at teenage pregnancies and the impact on their families.”
When it comes to controversial teenage pregnancies, there are few that are perhaps as shocking as Hunter and Bella’s.
Bella was just 14 years old when she and Hunter conceived a child. The young mom, who has since amassed a large following on TikTok, revealed in a video that Hunter turned 13 only days after the pregnancy occurred.
“I understand it doesn’t make it any better,” Bella said.

“I understand he was sexually ready faster than I was, and that’s OK, but I was ready when we had sex.”
Responding to certain accusations online, she said that she hadn’t taken advantage of him or coerced or forced him to do anything he didn’t want to.
She continued: “We’ve already talked to the cops about it. It was consensual.”
Responding to claims that she had ruined Hunter’s life, she said: “He chose to stay with me. He chose to take care of our baby.”
Bella gave birth to son Wesley in March, 2025. Speaking on Unexpected, Hunter revealed: “I was 12 when I found out I was going to be a dad. Now I’m 13. I did not think I would be finishing 8th grade and becoming a dad at the same time.”
Hunter’s mother and father are currently locked in a custody battle for their son. Court files reveal how Hunter’s dad, Casey Johnson, launched a petition to assume full care of the teenager, alleging that his mother had created an ‘unstable and unwholesome environment’.
Casey also claims that Hunter’s mom, Stacie Riddle, gave Hunter permission to ‘move in with his girlfriend who became pregnant soon after’.
Casey’s appeal to the courts to ban his son from living with Bella (the mother of his child) or her family, including staying at her house, was granted.
“Neither party shall allow the minor child to stay overnight at a romantic partner’s house,” the temporary custody order reads.
