The Epstein files have drawn widespread attention since their release. Now, the U.S. Department of Justice has been accused of withholding records, including material tied to allegations that Donald Trump sexually abused a minor.
On 20 January, the Justice Department released more than three million pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. He died in a New York prison cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
President Donald Trump had long been mentioned in connection with Jeffrey Epstein, even before the release. According to reports, his name appears hundreds of times in the Epstein files, including on an FBI list identifying individuals as subjects of “salacious information.”

Now, the DOJ has been accused of withholding Epstein-related records. Among them are materials tied to allegations that Trump sexually abused a minor, according to VT. The claims, raised by House Oversight Committee member Robert Garcia, allege a breach of the committee’s subpoena and the Epstein Files Transparency Act. House Democrats say evidence shows the DOJ withheld and removed files, specifically those related to accusations involving Donald Trump.
Rep. Robert Garcia said: “For the last few weeks, Oversight Democrats have been investigating the FBI’s handling of allegations from 2019 of sexual assault on a minor made against President Donald Trump by a survivor.
“Yesterday, I reviewed unredacted evidence logs at the Department of Justice.
“Oversight Democrats can confirm that the DOJ appears to have illegally withheld FBI interviews with this survivor who accused President Trump of heinous crimes.
“Oversight Democrats will open a parallel investigation into this.
“Under the Oversight Committee’s subpoena and the Epstein Files Transparency Act, these records must immediately be shared with Congress and the American public.”
The White House has addressed the allegations
One allegation, forwarded to the FBI Washington Field Office, involves a woman who claimed she was introduced to Donald Trump by Epstein when she was 13 years old. She alleged the incident occurred in the 1980s and said Trump “forced her head down to his exposed penis, which she subsequently bit. In response, Trump punched her in the head and kicked her out.”
According to reports, the woman was interviewed four times by FBI agents, but only one interview appears in publicly released files and does not mention the president.
The White House addressed allegations about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Just as President Trump has said, he’s been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein,”
“And by releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena request, signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and calling for more investigations into Epstein’s Democrat friends, President Trump has done more for Epstein’s victims than anyone before him.”
“Meanwhile, Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Plaskett have yet to explain why they were soliciting money and meetings from Epstein after he was a convicted sex offender.”
