Donald Trump called the media 20 minutes after Barron Trump was born

Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, welcomed their son, Barron, in 2006. It should go without saying that the fifth child of the former President had a very luxurious childhood, and that hardly changed for the worse when he moved into the White House.

Since then, Barron Trump hasn’t been seen too much in the spotlight. His mother, Melania, did her best to shield him from media attention during her husband’s presidency. Recently, though, he appeared several times in public, and everyone is saying the same thing.

Barron was born in New York and spent his early days in a Manhattan penthouse. Yet just 20 minutes after he was welcomed into this world, Donald Trump is said to have done something that we guess no father has done before him.

Barron Trump was born in New York City on March 20, 2006. Much of his childhood was spent growing up in Trump Tower in Manhattan, where he was said to have had an entire floor to himself.

Barron Trump – childhood

It will come as no surprise that Donald Trump’s net worth is truly staggering, and as a result, Barron grew up in a world of luxury.

In an interview shortly after he was born, Melania revealed that Barron’s floor in Trump Tower was fully equipped with a kitchen, a living room, and even housing for the maids.

Moreover, it turns out that she gave him a nickname at a very young age, calling him “Little Donald,” based on his personality.

“He is a very strong-minded, very special, smart boy. He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants. Sometimes I call him ‘Little Donald.'”

Speaking with Parenting, mom Melania revealed that Barron loved planes and helicopters as a young child.

She always made sure to cook his breakfast and prepare his lunch. So even though they had a very luxurious lifestyle, they didn’t have a traditional nanny.

“Barron is 9 years old. He needs somebody as a parent there, so I am with him all the time,” Melania said in a 2015 People interview. “As you know my husband is traveling all the time.”

“We keep it down to a minimum,” Trump added. “If you have too much help, you don’t get to know your children.”

Melania and Donald Trump let him paint on the walls

Melania revealed that Barron was very much into creating things as a young boy, and his mother supported that. Barron was said to even draw on the walls.

“In his space, the décor style of the rest of our home is mixed with what he is into: planes and helicopters,” Melania told Parenting, as quoted by Metro.

“We let him be creative; let his imagination fly and do whatever he wants. Whatever he wants to do with his own room later on, he can do it. Whatever he wants to do with his own room, he can do it. He draws on the walls, we can paint it over.”

“When he was smaller, he started drawing on the walls,” she added. “His imagination is growing and important. He draws on the walls in his playroom, we can paint it over. One day he was playing bakery and he wrote ‘Barron’s Bakery’ on the wall with crayons. He is very creative, if you say to a child ‘no, no, no,’ where does the creativity go?”

Growing up, Melania was closest to Barron. Donald naturally worked a lot, and he explained to Larry King in 2005 that he was a reasonably hands-off parent.

“I’m not going to be doing the diapers,” Trump said. “I’m not going to be making the food, I may never even see the kids.”

All the same, Barron loves spending time with his dad. When Barron was growing up, Melania ensured that he had quality time with his father – the two frequently went out for dinner together.

Barron Trump’s unknown language skills

Then, as he grew older, Barron joined his father on the golf course.

“It’s very important to know the person you’re with. And we know our roles,” Melania explained.

Ever since he was a young kid, Barron’s mother took the time to help him with his homework. He loved science and math, and Melania took him to different after-school activities, encouraging him to reach for the stars.

“He wants to be a golfer, a businessman, a pilot. It’s that age when you introduce him to stuff,” she says.

Melania Trump is of Slovenian descent. Because of that, she raised Barron to be bilingual, and when he calls his grandmother in Slovenia, he speaks Slovenian.

Both she and Donald agree that the more languages you speak, the better. His father told Larry King that he “loves” that Barron speaks with a Slovenian accent. One can assume these days that the accent is gone, since he’s gone to school in the US.

Like many other Trump family members, he headed to some of the more prestigious schools.

When Donald Trump was elected president in 2016, Melania decided that she and Barron would stay in New York City for about six months so he could finish up his school year, several media outlets reported.

What school does Barron Trump go to?

“It’s Melania who wants to stay. She doesn’t want to take Barron out of school,” an unnamed source told the New York Daily News. “She’s concerned that he won’t have the same relationship with new teachers that he has at Columbia Prep.”

Barron Trump went to the prestigious Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in New York City, a two-century-old, non-secular private school.

After school in “The Big Apple,” Barron and Melania headed for the White House. Barron was the first boy to live in the White House since JFK Jr. Moreover, when Barron moved into the White House, he was also the first presidential child to attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. Every president’s child over the last 35 years has attended Sidwell Friends instead.

Even though living at the White House sounds like the most lavish place a teenage boy could live, Barron wasn’t too impressed. One can only imagine it’s a big adjustment leaving the safe space of one’s first home. Though that first home in Barron Trump’s case was a luxury penthouse on one of the most fashionable streets in New York City, as a kid, it was not easy.

And at one point, Donald even admitted that his son wasn’t enjoying life at the White House. People reported that Donald responded to a question about Barron’s excitement about living in the White House with “not so much.”

“He does love New York and he loves his school. Not so much living in the White House,” the former president said.

$35,000 in tuition per year

Things have been relatively quiet since the Trump family’s high-profile departure from the White House. Donald and the others moved to their Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where he and Melania’s youngest son, Barron Trump, 16, started at a new school.

The son of Melania and Donald has settled at Mar-a-Lago. In August last year, a spokesperson for the private school Oxbridge Academy confirmed that Barron Trump enrolled at the prestigious high school. He is part of the class of 2024.

According to its website, the tuition to attend Oxbridge’s private school for the 2022-2023 year is $35,000. That includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, textbooks, learning support services, and college counseling services.

Barron is currently in his second year at his new school. Earlier this fall, a rumor began to spread on Facebook that Barron had been expelled. As reported by Politifact, a post ran with the title “Barron Trump has been kicked out of school for fees.” It subsequently detailed how the youngest Trump had been kicked out of the school because his family could not pay the tuition.

However, this turned out to be untrue.

Barron Trump has, as mentioned, not been seen too many times in public as he’s grown up. Melania protected him from the media while in the White House, and no information about how he’s doing in school at Oxbridge Academy has leaked.

Donald Trump called the media 20 minutes after Barron was born

The same went for his childhood, where Melania only appeared with their son a few times. However, in reality, the world knew about his birth only 20(!) minutes after he was welcomed into this world.

As reported by several newspapers at the time, within 20 minutes after Barron’s birth, Trump called MSNBC’s long-running radio show “Imus in the Morning,” hosted by Don Imus, to relau the great news.

At the same time, a statement on Melania’s website read that Barron weighed in at 8 1/2 pounds and was 21 inches long.

“Everyone’s perfect,” Donald Trump, who was 59 at the time, told Imus.

“I continue to stay young, right? I produce children, I stay young,”

The same day, Trump called Live with Regis and Kelly. Two days previous, Regis and his wife, Joy, had visited Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Philbin didn’t know at the time, but Trump soon after left to reunite with Melania in New York in order to be there for the birth of Barron.

“When I left you, I had no news of this at all,” Trump told Philbin, adding that Barron was over a week early.

Last year, Barron made the news when he stepped out in New York City with his mother. Social media went crazy because he’s growing into an exceptionally tall young man.

“Can you believe it?”

The latest reports state that he’s already 6 feet 7 inches tall. However, one look at photos of him standing shoulder-to-shoulder with his 5-foot-11-inch mom Melania suggests that he may be even taller than that.

Donald Trump, who stands at “only” 6 feet 3, has even spoken about his son’s height.

“Barron is 6-foot-7, can you believe it? And he’s 15,” Trump said. “Eric is short — he’s only 6-foot-6.”

Earlier this month, Barron was in attendance at his father’s press conference to announce his 2024 presidential bid, and his growth spurt shows no signs of slowing down. In one clip, panning across an entire room of people, the president’s son could clearly be seen in the background, overlooking all others.

We’ll see when Barron Trump is seen in public again. And maybe the biggest question is; how tall is he really going to be?
