Elon Musk’s child plans to leave U.S. after Trump’s victory

Donald Trump celebrated his election victory with none other than tech mogul Elon Musk, but not everyone in Musk’s family is sharing in the joy.

His daughter, Vivian Wilson, has made it clear she’s not sticking around to watch Trump’s second term.

“I don’t see my future being in the United States,” Vivian says on Threads.

As former president Donald Trump prepares for his second term in the White House, several celebrities have vowed to leave the United States if he returns to power. Among the names that made headlines are Cher, Sharon Stone, Barbra Streisand, and Whoopi Goldberg. But with Trump’s victory now confirmed, the question remains: will these promises hold true?

One person who seems set on following through is Elon Musk’s daughter, Vivian Wilson.

The 20-year-old, who legally changed her name and gender in 2022, says she plans to leave the country after Trump’s win.

”I’ve thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don’t see my future being in the United States. Even if he’s only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don’t happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon,” Vivian writes on Threads.

Vivian, who was born Xavier Musk, made headlines two years ago with her decision to distance herself from her billionaire father.

She stated, ”I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”

Vivian’s decision to adopt her mother’s surname was part of a broader effort to break ties with her high-profile father.

Musk, who is the father of 12 children, has publicly expressed his discomfort with his child’s transition and his strained relationship with her.

Controversial remarks on her transition

Speaking about the situation in a July interview, Musk controversially stated that his “son” was now “dead.”

“It happened to one of my older boys, where I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys,” Musk said.

He claimed that the transition occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time he described as full of confusion and misinformation. Musk went on to explain that he was told that his child might commit suicide if the transition didn’t happen. “This is before I had any understanding of what was going on,” he added.

Elon Musk, who has become an outspoken figure in support of Trump, further attributed his child’s decision to what he referred to as the “woke mind virus.”

In his eyes, the influence of this ideology led to his son’s decision, which he claims resulted in his “death.”

As the drama surrounding his family continues, the tensions between Musk and Vivian highlight a larger cultural divide in the U.S. that mirrors the political upheaval.

While Vivian plans to distance herself from her father’s legacy, Elon remains steadfast in his controversial beliefs, making his stance on gender identity and his relationship with his child a topic of constant debate.

As Trump returns to the White House, it’s clear that the fallout from both political and personal conflicts will continue to ripple through the public and affect family dynamics in the most unexpected ways. And as for Vivian’s move? It remains to be seen whether she’ll really follow through on her vow to leave the country.
