Expert shares key moment that was ‘clear’ sign to Renee Good before she was shot dead by ICE agent

It’s been almost a week since the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, but the media intensity shows no signs of dissipating.

Good, a 37-year-old mother and US citizen, was shot dead while attempting to flee ICE agents in Minneapolis on the morning of January 7. Her killer has since been named as Jonathan Ross, an ICE agent allegedly involved in another incident on June 17, 2025 in Bloomington, Minnesota.

On that occasion, he was reportedly dragged for over 100 yards after he and an ICE team conducted a traffic stop on Roberto Carlos Munoz, a suspect with multiple charges to his name. Things escalated dramatically when Munoz refused to step out of his vehicle, leading to Ross breaking the back driver’s side window in an attempt to unlock the door from inside.

Munoz responded by putting his foot on the gas to escape, with Ross’s arm lodged between the seat and the car frame. Ross was reported to have sustained “significant injuries to his arm and hand,” requiring 33 stitches, according to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

In the aftermath of the shooting of Renee Good last week in Minneapolis, Ross’ name was mentioned in court documents. The horrifying incident has polarized the US public, with high-profile figures on both sides of the political divide speaking out.

The Department of Homeland Security labeled Good a “violent rioter”, accusing her of “weaponizing” her vehicle in an attempt to run over agents. Others like White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt went as far as to label the mother a “domestic terrorist”.

Multiple angles of the incident that saw Good lose her life have now been released online, with thousands of people pouring over the resulting footage to come to their own conclusions.

Good’s last words can be heard in footage obtained by Alpha News, filmed by Jonathan Ross on his mobile phone. Good can be heard telling him: “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.”

After shooting Good three times at close range, Ross is then heard muttering “f***ing b***h” as Good’s car careened into parked vehicles away down the road.

A licensed professional counsellor known as Dr. Grande has now examined footage from the other side of the road on his YouTube channel. Dr. Grande believes that there was a “clear” sign which Good should have paid more attention to during the incident – one that ultimately might have cost her life.

The expert says that Good was obstructing the operation of the ICE agents’ vehicles with her vehicle, before receiving confusing orders from the officers themselves.

One officer could be heard telling her to drive away, even as another told her to exit her car.

“It should have been clear to Renee that she was being detained despite hearing the other instruction to drive away,” Dr. Grande pointed out.

“When Renee put her vehicle in drive and pulled forward, she could see John Doe standing near the front driver’s side of her vehicle. He was not in a position to see her front wheels.

“He did not know that they were turned to the right. When Renee moved forward, John Doe could have reasonably assumed that he was going to be struck with the vehicle,” the counsellor said.

He added: “John Doe is not guilty of any crime beyond a reasonable doubt. The problem with prosecuting John Doe is that when Renee moved her vehicle toward him, she committed assault.”

In a second, later video, Dr. Grande alleged that the ICE agents unnecessarily “escalated the situation”. In that video, he referred to the aforementioned incident that saw Ross dragged by a vehicle during a traffic stop last year, explaining how it might have been a factor in his decision to fire at Good.
