Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been soaking up the European summer as they support their youngest daughter, Audrey, on tour with singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile.
But a recent photo from their travels has fans more concerned than celebratory.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been married for 28 years, and their love seems stronger than ever. On July 1, Tim shared a cozy snapshot on Instagram. In it, the two sit side-by-side at a quaint outdoor restaurant in Denmark.
Faith, smiling in sunglasses, leans lovingly into Tim. He’s wearing a bright yellow sweater and a baseball cap — but what really grabbed attention was the cane resting in his hand.
Almost immediately, fans flooded the comments section with worry.
“Beautiful photo. Why do you have a cane? Are you ok?” one follower asked.
Another added, “Need the full story on the cane my man… tell Audrey to break a leg!”
What’s going on with Tim McGraw?
Longtime fans know the singer has been battling ongoing issues with his back and knees. While he’s managed to return to the stage after a yearlong break, the recovery hasn’t been easy — and it’s led to some canceled shows.
Back in May, Tim opened up to Bobby Bones about what’s really been going on behind the scenes: “I had had a back surgery before tour last year, and that sort of went south on me at the beginning of the tour, and sort of compensating for that my knees went out like three weeks into the tour,” he shared.
He didn’t stop there.
“So I had to finish the tour with my knees completely gone and my back gone, and as soon as I got off tour I went in and had the surgeries done. I had my knee surgeries done, and in the process of recovering from my knee surgeries, my back went out again and I had to have another back surgery.”
”Some mornings are better than others..”
Tim went on to share that his injuries were serious enough to make him step away from a planned Netflix project. He had been cast as a world champion bull rider—ironically, a character dealing with back problems and told not to ride again.
“So anyways, we had to push that off,” Tim said.
As for how he’s feeling now? “I feel better. Some mornings are better than others, but yeah,” he added.
Despite powering through a performance at the Nashville rodeo on May 31, Tim had to cancel his July 21 appearance at the Colorado State Fair and Professional Bull Riders “Last Cowboy Standing” event. According to his official site, his next show is now scheduled for August 2 at the Bristol Motor Speedway.
While fans are missing Tim on stage, many are just happy to see him and Faith enjoying their family time—and proudly supporting Audrey’s rising career.
Here’s hoping for a smooth recovery and more adorable moments from one of country music’s favorite couples. 💛
