First Lady Jill Biden decorates White House lawn with giant hearts for Valentine’s Day

Just days before Valentine’s Day, First Lady Jill Biden unveiled an adorable surprise on the White House lawn.

At least a half dozen giant hearts meant to look like conversation hearts, the classic Valentine’s Day candy.

The giant pink, red, and white hearts were installed on the north lawn overnight, according to a spokesperson for the first lady.

“As you may know, the first lady is known for her sense of humor, love of surprises, and celebrating traditions, especially with her family.”

“Valentine’s Day has always been one of her favorite holidays,” the spokesperson said. “Sending messages of healing, unity, hope and compassion, this is her Valentine to the country.”

As reporters made their way to the White House for the day, images of the hearts, which are “hearkening back to the days of sharing candy hearts between friends and family,” began to make their way onto social media.

Even President Biden and the First Dogs joined in on the fun.

While the country has suffered so much heartbreak over the past year, President Biden had a message for those who lost a loved one during the ongoing pandemic.

“The only thing I can say to them is that they’re still in your heart. Think about them in your heart. They really are. I can tell you from experience, they’re in your heart.”

The decorations will stay up through the weekend.

I can’t wait to see how the First Lady will decorate the White House during President Biden’s term. If she continues with these little surprises, we’re in for a treat.
