Matt Lauer’s daughter Romy got into trouble with police over the summer after her vehicle was involved in a “minor” crash in the Hamptons.
Even though the 20-year-old college student received a ticket for the incident, Edward Burke Jr. is “currently involved in the case and resolving this for Ms. Lauer.”
According to Page Six, around 4 a.m. on July 5, 2024 officers responded to a 911 call about a loud noise. When officers arrived they discovered a fence and sign had been knocked down.
Officials were able to determine the driver’s identity because the vehicle’s license plate had been left behind at the scene. A source told People the accident was “minor” and occurred “close to her home.”
They also added that while Romy was not charged with a DUI, she was given a ticket.
Matt Lauer, the disgraced Today host, and his former wife Annette Roque share three children: Jack, 23, Romy, 20, and Thijs, 17.
In 2023, a source told People that Matt remained “close with his kids” despite his dramatic shift in lifestyle after he was fired from Today over multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
