Girl, 12, killed after subway surfing: Terrifying video shows her on train tracks

A 12-year-old girl has died after a subway surfing accident in Brooklyn, New York City. Zemfira Mukhtarov was found unconscious and later pronounced dead. She posted her daring stunts on TikTok, including one where she was on the tracks.

The tragic news is emerging from New York City. 12-year-old Zemfira Mukhtarov was a young girl who was seeking thrills every day, including subway surfing.

Sadly, on Saturday, she was killed while subway surfing, meaning riding on top of the subway as it drives, in Brooklyn.

Her mother, Nataliya Rudenko, told the NY Post on Monday that her daughter snuck out from their home in the middle of the night on Saturday shortly before she was killed. She was, according to her mother, obsessed with filming stunts and posting them online, despite her parents’ pleas for her not to.

Zemfira’s videos, which she posted on TikTok, included one of her lying on the tracks just weeks before the fatal accident.

“I always working, and I don’t know what she’s doing, what time she’s doing,” grieving mom Nataliya Rudenko, of Ukraine, told the NY Post. “One time I see she is on the top of the Williamsburg Bridge, [pretending to] hold our city on her hand.”

The mother said she had told her daughter, “It’s dangerous, you don’t have to do this,” but ultimately couldn’t stop her. As per the NY Post, videos of Zemfira showed, for example, her lying on the tracks while a subway cart passed above her, and another clip where she stood on a narrow beam above the train.

At around 3 a.m. Zemfira Mukhtarov and her 13-year-old friend, Ebba Morina, were found near the Williamsburg station in Brooklyn. They were unconscious and later pronounced dead. On GoFundMe, Zemfira’s father, Ruslan, is raising money to honor her daughter’s memory.

“With heavy hearts, we are reaching out for support after the tragic loss of my beloved daughter, Zemfira , who passed away in a devastating accident at a subway station. She was 12 and she had to have her 13 in just 2 weeks , full of life, and taken from us far too soon in a heartbreaking incident that we believe was a subway surfing accident,” the GoFundMe reads.

“No parent should ever have to face the pain of losing a child, and no child should lose their life in such a tragic way. We are struggling to process this immense grief, and we are turning to our community for help to give Zemfira the respectful and loving farewell she deserves.”

Raised more than $20 000

“We are raising funds to cover the costs of her funeral and memorial services, as this unexpected tragedy has left us financially unprepared. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us honor Zemfiras memory and lay her to rest with the dignity she deserves,” it continued.

“If you’re unable to donate, please share this fundraiser or keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your kindness, support, and love during this incredibly difficult time.”
