Given our total inability to peer into the future and know what’s coming our way, it’s hardly a surprise that there’s a definite fascination with those who claim to be able to.
Declaring oneself a mystic capable of seeing through the mists of time leaves oneself open, naturally, for a deal of criticism. Sceptics and naysayers are the very least of it; if you don’t get things right, it’s very easy to prove that you’re not what you say you are.
But that doesn’t stop people building a reputation on their supposed ability to predict what’s around the corner. Take Athos Salomé, for example, a Brazilian who’s been dubbed the “Living Nostradamus” due to his burgeoning reputation as the real deal.
The 39-year-old claims to have foreseen the Covid-19 pandemic before it happened, as well as the September 2022 passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Earlier this month, Salomé predicted there was a “high likelihood that the Republican Party will lose at least one chamber in November 2026.” He also told Tyla that a “more energised Democratic base” will cause problems for Trump’s party, reasoning that through “falling presidential approval, a more energised Democratic base, a historical phenomenon of punishing governing parties through a midterm lens.”
In a series of new insights given to Tyla, Salomé delved deeper into the subject of Trump and his governance, claiming to have glimpsed a future wherein the ‘presidential throne ceases to be simply a political office – it becomes a symbol of collective change’.

“When the current cycle of power comes to an end, the presidency – and the very concept of governance – may no longer be the same,” the mystic reportedly said.
“The ‘throne,’ in this context, does not disappear. It transforms. The MAGA movement becomes not just a political campaign but a long-term endeavour intended to carry Donald Trump’s influence even long after a single presidential term expires.
“It seeks power through consensus and long-term engagement, a foundation for political power that can mold government for decades to come.”
Salomé also touched upon the continued link between Donald Trump and Space X founder Elon Musk.
“The relationship with businessman Elon Musk seems only to grow stronger over time, and so too does its prominence,” he said.
“Musk controls important technologies such as social media platforms, artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite communication systems; he holds sway over them, therefore is powerful.
“This link between Trump and Elon Musk is no mere coincidence.”
