Melania Trump spokesperson denies ‘false’ rumor about Trump and Barron

Donald Trump is locked in a fiery showdown with none other than Harvard University, a clash that’s sparked a storm of wild theories and speculation.

But now, an unexpected voice breaks the silence: Melania Trump is stepping in —and she’s putting her foot down.

Trump’s latest attack on Harvard

The feud between Donald Trump and Harvard University has taken a dramatic turn, with the former president now urging all federal agencies to terminate their contracts with the Ivy League institution.

At the heart of the standoff is an escalating dispute over records tied to foreign students — an issue that has already prompted Harvard to sue the federal government in an effort to reclaim approximately $3.2 billion in frozen grant funding.

On Monday, Trump took to Truth Social on Monday to blast Harvard as “very antisemitic” and floated the idea of redirecting the school’s federal funding elsewhere.

“I am seriously looking at taking away all federal funding from Harvard and giving it to trade schools all across our land,” he wrote. “What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!”

As tensions rise, the situation has sparked a wave of speculation online. One particularly viral theory claimed that Trump’s rage against Harvard stemmed from his son Barron allegedly being rejected by the school.

“Can’t help but wonder…”

Back i April, Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse wasn’t holding back when it comes to questioning the Trump administration’s pressure campaign on elite universities.

“Can’t help but wonder how many Trumps got rejected by Harvard,” Whitehouse posted on X, following Harvard’s refusal to comply with former President Trump’s demands to overhaul its admissions, hiring, and institutional policies back in April.

In a 2024 interview with the Daily Mail, Donald Trump claimed his son had been accepted to “a lot” of colleges and had considered attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where Trump himself studied.

But ultimately, Barron opted for NYU’s Stern School of Business.

”He’s a very smart guy, and he’ll be going to Stern, the business school, which is a great school at NYU,” said Trump. ”It’s a very high-quality place. He liked it. He liked the school.”

Melania speaks out

Despite online rumors, there’s been no official confirmation that the youngest Trump ever applied to Harvard — or to Columbia University, another Ivy League school criticized by the Trump administration.

And now, another voice is weighing in on the controversy — this time from someone a bit removed, but certainly not uninvolved. Barron Trump’s mother, former First Lady Melania Trump, is breaking her silence.

A spokesperson for Melania quickly dismissed the swirling rumors, firmly stating they have no basis in reality. As reported by the Palm Beach Post, her spokesperson Nicholas Clemens said, “Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false.”

Melania’s message couldn’t be clearer: her son is off-limits when it comes to the political games tied to the Ivy League.

But on the flip side… we all know Trump has a tendency to take things personally. So is it really that far-fetched to think there might be more going on here?
