News of a series featuring “Tiva” is welcome as NCIS fans are still recovering from the emotional David McCallum tribute episode and are in need of some happy news.
Tony and Ziva first crossed paths in 2005 and underwent years of romantic tension before Ziva left the series during the 10th season. While she appeared in the first two episodes of season 11, it was revealed that she was reportedly killed in a bombing in Israel. But not before giving birth to a daughter, Tali, who was fathered by Tony.
Tony eventually left NCIS during season 13 to care for Tali.
In season 16 it was revealed that Ziva survived the bombing. De Pablo appeared as Ziva in the season 16 finale and several episodes during the 17th season, but hasn’t been seen since.
Meanwhile, Tony made a surprise appearance during Ducky’s funeral.
The couple is reportedly living in Paris with their daughter.
While we don’t have a name for the series, fans have been treated to a short description of the series.
“Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.”
“We’ve been talking about this story for many years, and now with [executive producer] John McNamara at the helm, we are ready,” Weatherly and de Pablo said in a joint statement. “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter.”
The 10-episode series order will air on Paramount +. As of publication the spinoff does not have a name.
I can’t wait for this spinoff! I loved watching Tony and Ziva and I was so sad when they both left NCIS.
Please share if you’ll be watching this new series.
