Parents found dead in hot tub by their children – tragic details are released

Postmortem results have been revealed following the deaths of Thomasina and Patrick Tobin after the couple were found dead while in a hot tub on vacation.

As per reports, the pair, who hailed from Ireland but lived in London, had been vacationing for two weeks in the Cap Blanc area of Spain, located 25 miles or so south of Valencia.

Tragically, Thomasina and Patrick were both found dead in a hot tub by their teenage children.

“The bodies of a man aged 50 and a woman aged 45 were found yesterday at a residential property in the municipality of Cullera. Both were Irish,” the civil guard in Valencia said in a statement, as per Metro.

Police had initially brought in homicide detectives to ascertain if foul play was involved, but a postmortem examination has since determined that Thomasina and Patrick both suffered fatal heart stoppages.

One theory is that the couple became accidentally trapped in the tub and experienced extreme physical exhaustion as they tried to escape. That, it’s reported, could have caused their respective heart attacks.

Another theory is that one of the couple were electrocuted, with the other dying while attempting to rescue them.

“According to the first investigations, the excessive suction force would have imprisoned the couple inside the bathtub, which triggered a situation of extreme anguish and desperate physical effort to free themselves from the hydraulic grip,” Spanish newspaper Las Provincias explained.

Hot tub industry experts are said to have joined the Guardia Civil team to examine the scene.

“The autopsy findings almost definitively reinforce the theory of accidental entrapment,” Las Provincias continued.

“Preliminary analyses indicate that the victims suffered cardiac arrest brought on by acute stress following physical exhaustion and the desperation of the moment.”

There were scratches present on Thomasina and Patrick’s bodies, but this is believed to be from them trying to save one another as opposed to third party involvement.
