Fans think Miley Cyrus is teasing new music after she quietly dropped her surname from her website, going by just “Miley.”
Miley Cyrus appears to have dropped her surname, now officially going by just “Miley.”
Reactions on X has been immediate. One fan wrote, “Miley dropping cyrus from her website feels like the most Miley move ever, she rebrands every era and it always ends up being the right call.”
Another said, “The way Miley rebrands every era and somehow makes every new version of herself work will never not impress me.” Someone else simply predicted, “She’s about to release something beautiful…”
A difficult week behind the excitement
The timing carries extra weight, since this comes during an emotionally heavy stretch for Miley. Her godmother, country icon Dolly Parton, died on August 25 in Nashville following what her team described as a brief battle with cancer.
Miley, who had known Parton since birth, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, writing that losing “my Aunt Dolly” was a feeling beyond what she could put into words. She said their most sacred moments stayed private, adding, “What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong.”
She described one of their last conversations as being about music and transformation, closing her message with, “I will always love her and want to make her proud.”
