Pete Davidson once had as many tattoos as he had celebrity ex-girlfriends, but the comedian and actor has undergone a huge change.
Earlier this year, we reported on how the 32-year-old had decided to burn off the majority of his body ink. Davidson previously had in excess of 200 tattoos over his body, but he revealed in January 2025 that his view on most of them had shifted.
“I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act and I love it a lot,” Davidson said on Late Night with Seth Meyers, adding his career in Hollywood partly inspired his decision to remove the majority of his tattoos.
“It takes like three hours – you have to get there like three hours earlier – to cover all your tattoos. For some reason, people in movies, they don’t have them that much.”
“I made a lot of those decisions before rehab, so I have the dumbest tattoos,” The King of Staten Island star previously said on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
“I got a collection of cartoons smoking blunts like a Muppet smoking a blunt, the Tootsie Pop owl smoking a blunt.”

Inspired by sobriety to laser off his tattoos, Davidson admitted that it’ll take quite some time to have them removed – hopefully it’ll be finished by the time he’s 40, according to E! News.
A recent picture posted by his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, has offered a timely update on his journey to ‘burn off’ his collection of ink during $200,000 worth of painstaking procedures.
The picture, posted to social media on Sunday, shows Davidson holding his newborn daughter, Scottie, and gives fans a look at the comedian’s body, notably free from a lot of its former ink.
Elsie captioned the photo: “MY BEST FRIENDS.”
Davidson and his girlfriend, said to have been dating since March, welcomed their first child on December 12.

“My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief,” Elsie wrote beneath the first pics of the baby. Davidson commented beneath: ‘wu tang forever.’
As for Davidson’s goal of removing his extensive collection of tatts, the 32-year-old said back in January that he plans to keep two or three of them.
“I’ve been burning them off. They burn off a layer of your skin, then it has to heal for six to eight weeks,” he told Jimmy Fallon earlier this year.
The procedure in question reportedly has to be done at least 12 times, and requires the individual to avoid sunlight.
