In his tell-all book Our King: Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, Jobson writes that both Harry and William were asked not to bring their wives.
“Harry was insisting Meghan travel with him to Scotland as the Queen’s life ebbed away, but the King said it was only for the children and grandchildren to be with the Queen,” Jobson wrote.

“Privately, he wanted to say Meghan was not welcome, but he couldn’t say that to Harry, so he personally intervened and asked Kate to stay back so that it was fairer on Meghan.”

“Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do,” Jobson wrote.

Meghan Markle contacted Kate Middleton after surgery ‘in hopes of reconciliation’
According to the Mirror, Harry and Meghan Markle sent their best wishes to Kate Middleton – and King Charles – after she had been hospitalized.
“The King and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health,” a source told the Mirror. “The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes.”
Weeks later, another picture was brought forward about what especially Meghan had done when she found out about Kate’s surgery. According to a Us Weekly source, Meghan contacted the princess, hoping it would be a first step to ending the feud.
“Meghan has contacted Kate and Charles,” the source said. “So moves are being made to reconcile.”
Meanwhile, a second source noted that Meghan has been very “supportive” of Harry’s attempts to reconcile with his family. Also, he “wishes the royals—Kate included—the very best.”

However, now, one royal expert paints another picture of the two. Speaking to GB News, royal historian Marlene Koenig praises both Harry and Meghan for how they handled the situation.

Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan have spoken publicly about Kate Middleton and her surgery. As Marlene Koening said, that has been the right move for the couple. But even though Kate will hopefully return to royal duty soon, Harry and Meghan could make a massive mistake by beginning to speak about the princess publicly, according to PR expert Ryan McCormick.
In an interview with the Mirror, McCormick urges the Sussexes not to refrain from speaking about Kate Middleton, at least not before she has returned to royal duty.

Meanwhile, many have questioned whether it’s the right call not to give more updates on Kate. The initial statement, released on January 17, read, “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.
“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share. The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
