Prince William makes huge decision for King Charles’ funeral after Andrew’s arrest

Disgraced former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing admonishment within his own family as well as the public eye.

Just when the hammer blow would fall regarding Andrew is a question many have pondered for years. Since the earliest indications of his inappropriate relationship with infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, through to his car-crash Newsnight interview where he all but convinced the public that he was hiding a great deal, there have been calls for him to face some sort of justice.

If we’re frank, his reputation was reduced to tatters a long time ago, but it was a string of email published last year, followed by the US Department of Justice’s major Epstein files release in January, that were the final nails in the proverbial coffin.

Andrew’s fall from grace might not have been meteoric relative to the timespan, but it’s certainly been definitive. Once a high-ranking royal, the son of one monarch and the brother of another, Andrew has now been stripped of title, rank, and even home.

The ribbon tying up his misery was drawn tight when he was arrested in February, but only a diehard optimist would opine that no further troubles await in the future.

The full extent of the punishment for his continued association with Epstein is anyone’s guess, but rumors now insist that he’s facing serious consequences as it pertains to whatever remains of his standing within the Royal Family.

Cosmopolitan report that while he’s currently permitted to remain on royal property – he’s been living on the Sandringham Estate in wake of his arrest, having been forced out of his home at the Royal Lodge – he’s been entirely ostracized by other royals.

They go as far as to cite a royal insider who reportedly told Rob Shuter (who subsequently published the information on his Substack) that Prince William has vowed never to let Andrew be around his family again.

“William has made a very firm decision,” Shuter writes. “Andrew will never be around Catherine or the kids again. That door is completely closed. William’s priority is protecting Catherine and the children. He doesn’t want them anywhere near the controversy surrounding Andrew.”

He continues: “If Andrew is present, William, Catherine and the children won’t be. It’s that simple.”

And that supposedly extends to all royal engagements and events in the future, which raises a point of significant interest as it pertains to the eventual funeral of Andrew’s brother, King Charles.

“When the time eventually comes for King Charles’s funeral, William does not want Andrew there,” the royal insider told Shuter.

“He doesn’t want that shadow anywhere near Catherine or his children. Catherine and the kids come first. Andrew is out of their world for good.”

Given that Andrew is Charles’ younger brother (in spite of all he may or may not have done) it makes sense to assume that the king would want him there during the send-off, even if Charles has steadily taken steps to exclude Andrew from the monarchy.

Prince William and Kate Middleton haven’t publicly addressed Andrew’s arrest, though they did (via their spokesperson) admit to being “concerned by the continuing revelations.”
