While Donald Trump continues to claim he could be the Greatest President in the history of the United States, lowering prices on food and gas and bringing in trillions to the nation, voters seem to say otherwise.
Donald Trump is in hot water with the release of the Epstein files. Exactly what will be unveiled is not known yet, but Trump recently made a U-turn, calling for the release of all the files, which he in the past called a “hoax.”
The cost of living has, contrary to the president’s opinion, not gone down in the US. The consumer price index figures for September show grocery prices 2.7 per cent higher than in the same month last year.
Moreover, it’s 1.4 per cent higher than when Trump was sworn in in January.
While Trump has blamed the Democrats for the high prices, he told McDonald’s franchise owners on Monday that he takes credit for bringing inflation back to “normal,” pledging to lower prices further.
This, together with the Epstein files, has not been well received by voters. In a new poll, Trump’s popularity has dipped to its lowest in his second term. The Reuters/Ipsos four-day poll was released on Tuesday, November 18, and showed the cost of living and the Jeffrey Epstein files were the main reasons for the big drop.
Only 38% of Americans approve of what Trump is doing in the Oval Office. Moreover, the survey showed Trump’s “overall approval sliding two percentage points since a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted in early November,” Reuters reported. Further, 62% of Americans are unhappy with the president’s actions.
A total of 1,017 US adults nationwide took part in the survey. The margin of error was around 3 percentage points.
