Woman exposes disturbing reality of ‘Ozempic vulva’

A woman who used a weight loss jab to shed nearly 42 pounds in only four months was horrified with the drug’s bizarre side effect – known as Ozempic vulva – that left her private bits looking saggy and loose.

Despite repeated warnings that Ozempic isn’t meant for weight loss, millions worldwide continue using it off-label to shed pounds.

Originally developed to manage blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 diabetes, this GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist has rapidly surged in popularity for its dramatic weight loss effects.

Unexpected changes

But with dramatic results often come dramatic consequences – and the latest reported side effect has taken social media by storm: “Ozempic vulva.”

Women who’ve turned to Ozempic in pursuit of a slimmer figure are now noticing unexpected changes in their genital area. While terms like “Ozempic face” and “Ozempic mouth” have already become widely recognized for describing rapid-fat-loss effects in the face and oral area, the phenomenon of “Ozempic vulva” has started making waves in online forums and even the tabloids.

‘Deflated’ or ‘aged look’

Although this isn’t an officially recognized side effect by the drug’s manufacturer, physicians are beginning to weigh in.

Dr. Michael Tahery, a Los Angeles-based urogynecologist, explained that rapid fat loss can affect the vulva in multiple ways. These include sagging of the outer labia, weakened vaginal muscles, and increased dryness.

In short, the drug doesn’t discriminate between fat stored in the abdomen and fat stored in more delicate areas of the body.

“Loss of subcutaneous fat is global – including the mons pubis and labia majora – sometimes giving the area a deflated or ‘aged’ look. This can be due to ptosis of soft tissue, or atrophy of the fat in this area,” Dr Justin Perron, board member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, said in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Beyond aesthetics, gynecologist Dr. Melanie Bone told Newsweek that “rapid weight loss induced by GLP-1 agonists may alter hormone levels, which could affect vaginal lubrication and tissue health. Some women may experience increased vaginal dryness as a result.”

‘Sagged a bit’

For some women, the impact is more than just clinical. Paige Osprey, a 30-year-old woman who lost nearly 42 lbs in four months using weight-loss injections, told The Sun about her experience.

“A friend saw me at the gym and asked me if I had a ‘hidden package’ down below. I blushed red, telling her it was simply ‘new knickers,’” she told the publication about the appearance of that area, which she called a “camel toe.” “When I looked, I realised my labia had effectively ‘lost weight’ and sagged a bit. I’d suffered loss of tautness in my labia, and it was untoned and flopping because of weight loss jabs. I was stunned.”

Hyaluronic fillers

Eventually, Paige opted for hyaluronic acid fillers – that some call “the other lip filler” – and says it restored volume and tone to the area.

“My confidence is back, and my sex life is great,” Osprey said. “I have friends who have sagging breasts after breastfeeding or weight loss, and if you think about it, it’s understandable that it happens from below as well,” Osprey said.

While this particular side effect remains anecdotal and unofficial, it adds to a growing list of bodily changes reported by Ozempic users. These include not just nausea, constipation, and fatigue – but also premature aging, hair loss, and changes in facial structure.

So, while Ozempic continues to dominate headlines as a miracle solution for weight loss, it’s becoming increasingly clear that rapid fat reduction can come with some unexpected – and very personal – side effects.
