Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott first met in the Summer of 2019 while filming an episode of Apple TV+’s Carpool Karaoke alongside their siblings, Emily Deschanel and Drew Scott.
The two of them hit it off and began seeing each other soon after. And now, the couple has built a beautiful life together where even Deschanel’s children are incredibly fond of their mom’s partner.
Zooey has two children; a 6-year-old son, Charlie, and an 8-year-old daughter, Elsie — that she shares with her ex-husband and their father, Jacob Pechenik.
“The kids’ dad is a great dad. We have an amazing relationship there as well,” Jonathan has said before. “I love it when the kids draw photos. They draw Mommy and Daddy and Jonathan. It’s really sweet.”
Recently, the four of them were on a family vacation to Scotland, where Jonathan Scott proposed to Deschanel, who enthusiastically agreed. According to reports, Zooey’s two children were also part of the proposal, which makes it all the more special.
Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel took to Instagram to make the sweet announcement. They posted a close-up selfie of the two of them as Zooey shows off her ring, with the caption, “Forever starts now!!!”
This past weekend on Saturday, the actress made an appearance at the red carpet of Alice + Olivia Presentation by Stacey Bendet Spring 2024 at the New York Fashion Week. While the actress looked wonderful, something was noticeably missing: her engagement ring from the Property Brothers star.
When she was giving an interview, she offered an explanation of why her engagement ring was missing since it raised a few eyebrows. The actress said, “Oh, it’s being sized. It was too big, so we’re getting it just right. I think it’s ready now, so I’ll have it soon.”
That’s a relief! As for the wedding, the actress said they were still in early stages of planning it, she said, “We just literally started talking about [the wedding] so we don’t really know, but it will be fun.”
