Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, could be set for a UK return next year as the Invictus Games will be held in Birmingham. However, claims have suggested that Meghan has had some ‘diva’ demands if that were to come true. Now, the Duchess hits back.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left royal life behind in 2020. They stepped down from their roles within the Firm and moved to Montecito, California, for a whole different life.
However, in later years, rumors have suggested that Harry possibly misses his old life. The Duke and his wife have been involved in several business ventures, including Netflix series and podcasts.
For many years, Harry has also been heavily involved in the Invictus Games, the veteran competition he founded. Next year, the games will be held in Birmingham, UK, and Harry will be there.
However, it is now reported that Meghan could be joining him, but if the new claims are to be believed, not under any circumstances.
Meghan Markle’s ‘demands’ to join Prince Harry on UK visit
The Duchess is said to be considering joining her husband, but only under strict security and accommodation protocols. Journalist Rob Shuter cites sources on his Substack page saying that Meghan has requested exclusive access to several floors at the Hyatt hotel, together with enhanced security throughout her stay.
“Staff aren’t allowed to look at her. She’s in total control,” the source told journalist Rob Shuter.
Another insider claims Meghan is expecting everyone to use her formal titles throughout the UK trip, meaning to address her as “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.
She is expected to bring a large crew, including a stylist, a private chef, makeup professionals, assistants, and public relations staff. The Duchess is also claimed to have constant access to drivers and high-end vehicles, as well as a police escort from the airport.
Their security details have been a source of ongoing friction between the Sussexes and the Royal Family. The couple lost their legal appeal regarding their UK security last year.
Hits back on ‘fabricated’ claims
Still, Meghan Markle reportedly wants heavily restricted access points and heightened security at all Invictus Games events. That includes a visible armed presence.
“This isn’t just protection. She’s asking for a fortress,” one insider told journalist Rob Shuter. “Bulletproof glass at the Games, armed security everywhere she goes.”
The claims about Meghan Markle’s somewhat ‘diva’ demands appear not to sit well with the Duchess. Speaking to the Express, a source close to Harry and Meghan said, “This is a complete fabrication. Nothing about it is true. No demands like this have ever been made.”
