These days getting cosmetic procedures done has become easier than ever, with the wide availability of these procedures becoming available to people.
A lot of people who are in the public eye choose to opt for these procedures, including of course, athletes.
One athlete in particular is making headlines for the procedures she allegedly chose to have.
Alisha Lehmann is sparking surgery rumors after she made her appearance for the Women’s Euros 2025. The Swiss footballer who has been labeled as the “world’s prettiest footballer,” appeared on the field with visibly more plump lips and a fuller more smoother face.
Lehmann, who plays for Italy’s Juventus as well as the Swiss national team, has built a big social media presence over the years, boasting over 16 million followers on Instagram. She is regularly awarded brand deals with companies such as Tezenis and Logan Paul’s Prime hydration drink.
In their opening game, Switzerland lost to Norway by 2 to 1. In their subsequent match however they were able to beat Iceland by 2 to 0. Photos of Alisha gained a lot of traction online as people weighed in with their opinions on her appearance.
One person wrote about her seemingly altered appearance, “Alisha Lehmann is another example of how plastic surgeries and makeup make women look worse.”
Some people lamented at the loss of her previous, more natural beauty, saying, “Surreal. She was absolutely stunning and, worse still, has youth on her side. There was no reason for it.”
Others, however, stood in defence of the 26-year-old athlete, saying that she had the freedom to choose how she looked. One person wrote, “All the misogynists showing themselves in the comments… how tragic.”
“This woman is so stunning,” one person added, while another simply said, “Girl crush FOREVER.”
The footballer dabbles in modelling as an athlete. Earlier this year, she modelled the Valentine’s Day collection of Tezenis Underwear.
She said she felt more ‘confident’ now in terms of her modelling work.
“I wouldn’t say that working as a model was on my bucket list (laughs). But it is certainly cool and it is definitely a change,” she told said in an interview on 20 Minutes.
A few years ago the footballer talked about the misogyny which still exists when it comes to women playing sports. She said, “A lot of times people say, ‘Women can’t play football, they should be in the kitchen,’” SkySports.”
“But those people haven’t watched a single football game. That’s the problem, because when they come to the games and watch us, they go, ‘You actually can play,’” the athlete said.
