Sharon Osbourne shares her opinion on the ‘worst thing’ for kids, and fans agree

Sharon Osbourne, 71, has a thing or two to say about parenting in the 21st century, and shockingly at least one of her own children agree.

The former reality star and X-Factor judge recently sat down with People to discuss the family’s Osbourne Media House and The Osbournes Podcast. During the conversation they also discussed their thoughts on social media.

While commenting on the negativity they receive on social media, Sharon said, “The worst thing that can happen to a child is an iPad and an iPhone.”

Her son, Jack, agreed.

“The worst,” Sharon continued. “I think it’s insane that young kids can have their own accounts and put stuff into the universe. I think it’s insanity.”

Fans seemed to agree.

“She’s not wrong. We need to bring family time back together. Rather an hour every Monday with no phones are even longer.”

“I agree, it bothers me when I see little ones with their own IPhones and IPads.”

Sharon, who is a grandmother to daughter Kelly’s son Sidney, 16 months, and son Jack’s daughters Maple Artemis, 21 months, Minnie Theodora, 5, Andy Rose, 7, and Pearl, 10, said that while she’s against young children and technology, she isn’t completely against another family reality show.

“You should never say never, but I don’t really think about it.”

“It’s not something I go, ‘Oh God, I’ve got to get back into the world of reality, and I want to do this and I want to do that,’ ” she continues. “I just don’t even think about it. And like I say, you never say never, but they better do it quick before I croak.”
