One of my hobbies is redecorating old stuff around my house that’s lost its luster. For inspiration, I keep an eye out for little decorating projects that might inspire me and my friends. I’m not exactly Martha Stewart, though, so I tend to look for DIY projects and upcycling ideas that balance simple and elegant. So when I saw this poolside chair project recently, I had to share it. It’s something anyone can do—as long as you’ve got a couple old plastic chairs at home. Check it out!
Blogger Cherie Marie left these plastic chairs on her front porch a long time ago and forgot about them. But eventually, she got tired of walking past them and decided to do something about them. And that’s when she sawed off their legs.
Surprisingly, there was only one thing left for her to do to complete her new chairs—spray painted them with vibrant, fresh colors. And that’s all it took to make some pretty sweet poolside chairs.
“Now, they’re great for sitting around the pool and dangling your feet in the water. And they also cheer up the environment.” Marie wrote on Home Talk, where she shared her super simple idea.
You might not have a pool that needs seating, but you can at least spruce up your old chairs with some color and use Marie’s idea as inspiration for your own plastic chair upcycling project.
Please share this simple trick to help inspire your friends to think of clever home decorating projects this summer.
