Newly obtained footage shows how Amazon driver survived Amtrak train slicing delivery van in half

The incident occurred in November 2021, but footage of an Amtrak train splitting an Amazon delivery van in half was only recently obtained by TMZ.

And while absolutely frightening, it’s hard to look away.

Alexander Evans was transporting packages near Milwaukee, Wisconsin when he narrowly escaped death.

The father of two was driving parallel to the tracks before taking a left turn to cross them.

The crossing was not equipped with signals, lights, or warnings.

“I didn’t see anything. He was on my left side,” Evans, who said at the time he is deaf in his left ear, told local media in 2021.

“Literally it was like one long beep, like a horn from the train, and I put my foot on the gas,” Evans said. “I was like, I don’t know how far I’m going to get away from him.”

Almost immediately after Evans made the turn, an Amtrak train slammed into Evans’ delivery van ripping it in two.

The train continues barreling down the track, leaving a somewhat startled Evans behind still sitting in the driver seat. Once the train passes, Evans shakes his head before taking off his seatbelt.

TMZ obtained footage of the moment of impact from inside of the vehicle.

Miraculously Evans said he only felt “air and the pressure” of the air bags upon impact.

“I didn’t know what to feel to be honest with you.”

Not only did Evans survive, but he escaped without significant injuries. He only went to the hospital as a precaution.

Oh my gosh. This video is a perfectly good reason why there should be some sort of warning at every single railroad crossing. I don’t care if it’s out in the country!
