A good cabin crew during a flight can make your experience memorable or regrettable.
Luckily, on this Frontier Airlines flight, the cabin crew not only performed their duties but went above and beyond them in every sense of the word!
It was seemingly just another flight for flight attendant Diana Giraldo until she got a surprise from a passenger. An expecting mother realized she was having her baby much sooner than she had expected.
The flight from Denver International Airport to Orlando International Airport took a drastic turn when the flight crew realized that the baby could not wait and they would have to assist the mother in the delivery!
The company posted on its official Facebook, highlighting one flight attendant in particular, Diana Giraldo.
Giraldo took control of the situation and assisted the passenger during her labor the best she could. She accompanied the mother to the back lavatory and assisted her in the delivery.
The entire crew was alerted about the delivery. The pilots detoured the flight and landed at Pensacola Airport, where paramedics were already alerted and waiting on standby.
Captain Chris Nye made comments about his crew’s reaction to the event. He specifically appreciated the actions of Diana Giraldo. “Diana again went above and beyond after the completion of the flight to coordinate our return to Orlando,” he said.
He further added to his comment by saying, “this was a job well done, and I was happy to see everyone working together to successfully deliver a newborn on an aircraft!”
The mother even gave her daughter a middle name which showcased the circumstances of her birth. She gave her the middle name ‘Sky’.
What an incredible birth story this little girl and her family have now to tell! This goes to show that everyday miracles are a possibility. The little girl was born perfectly healthy on a flight, much earlier than she was expected!
We wish the newborn and her family well! Share this miraculous story with your friends and family to make their day.
