Quentin Tarantino is known for making some of Hollywood’s most violent and sometimes goriest scenes on film, but there’s one thing you won’t see associated with the director’s name — a sex scene.
The Academy Award winning director spilled that he finds those types of scenes “problematic.”
“It’s true, sex is not part of my vision of cinema,” Tarantino told Spain’s Diari ARA during a recent interview.

With the exception of Jackie Brown, the 60-year-old’s films do not contain a nude scene.
“The truth is that, in real life, it’s a pain to shoot sex scenes, everyone is very tense. And if it was already a bit problematic to do it before, now it is even more so. If there had ever been a sex scene that was essential to the story, I would have, but so far it hasn’t been necessary,” he said.
Even though Tarantino insists he’ll never include a sex scene in one of his films, some have questioned other shots he’s been known to include.
“Seriously, Quentin has separated more women from their shoes than the TSA,” Brad Pitt joked while accepting the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
“There’s a lot of feet in a lot of good directors’ movies,” he told GQ. “That’s just good direction. Like, before me, the person foot fetishism was defined by… Luis Buñuel, another film director… Hitchcock was accused of it, and Sofia Coppola has been accused of it.”
