This weekend social media was full of people honoring the mothers in their lives, even celebrities took the opportunity to thank their mothers and their own personal villages for helping raise their children.
Busy Philipps took to Instagram to pay tribute to those who helped raise her two children, Cricket, 9½, and Birdie, 14.
“Being a mom isn’t called a job for nothing. And I wouldn’t have made it this far as a mom and a human without the incredible women who’ve helped me show up for my kids as my best self,” the Freaks and Geeks actress wrote in a lengthy post.
Philipps recognized that if it wasn’t for the hardworking people in her life who helped care for her children, she wouldn’t have been able to pursue her career.
“Their love and care for my kids has allowed me to go to work and travel with the knowledge that the two humans most important to me will be taken care of.”
She shared images of “our beloved nanny Iliana,” who was with the family from when Birdie was eight months old until 2021, as well as photos of Loretta, Cricket’s nurse, who she said “came with me and Cricks to set EVERY SINGLE DAY of season 5 of Cougartown- since I went back to shooting 4 1/2 weeks after giving birth(superfun to have a wardrobe fitting wearing a pad and leaking milk!).”
The mother of two continued to thank various babysitters and friends who not only lent a hand over the years, but in doing so became members of their family.
“Our sweet Talulah, who I met years back when she was still in high school and whom the fates brought back into our lives in New York.”
“Jen, a friend to me who showed up right when I needed it most and a friend/mentor/aunt to my kid in the ways she needed it most but didn’t know how to ask for,” Philipps added.
She concluded her post by thanking a group of people who take care of so many children, but aren’t always recognized.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all who mother, especially the ones who maybe don’t always get the credit for it.”
Such a special thing to honor those who help raise our children. Even though these people may not be our children’s biological parents, they certainly love them like their own.
