Jennifer Lopez never shies away from flaunting her toned body that she works hard to maintain.
Recently for her 54th birthday, Lopez posted a series of images on her Instagram, allowing fans a glimpse into her celebrations. While some marveled over her immortal beauty, others suggested she’s “trashy” and accused her of using “botox, fillers and filters” to give the illusion of youth.

After almost three decades of career highs, Jennifer Lopez’s appearance at 54 is almost identical to when she was 28, starring in the 1997 biopic film Selena, where she played the legendary Mexican American singer, Selena Quintanilla.
She credits her all-around healthy physique to her intense fitness routine coupled with an equally disciplined diet.
On July 25th, the “On the Floor” singer celebrated her 54th birthday at the $60 million Beverly Hills mansion she now owns with her husband, Ben Affleck.
In her newsletter to subscribers, Lopez shared the details of her party, revealing she celebrated with her blended family, including fraternal twins Emme and Max Muñiz 15, from her marriage to Marc Anthony, and Affleck’s three kids, Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel Affleck, 11, from his marriage to Jennifer Garner.
“All the kids were there, it was a gorgeous day full of sunshine and perfect for a pool party!!
I felt so appreciated and acknowledged by my loved ones, and I’m extremely grateful to be where I am today at this point in my life’s journey with so many beautiful, caring people to share it all with,” she wrote in her newsletter.
She also shared some images on Instagram that showed her dancing on the table in a sparkly silver, backless gown, while guests seated at the tables cheered her on.
She captioned the post, “Birthday mood…all month!! Always a good day when Lola comes to play…” she writes about her fierce and fun alter ego, Lola, also the namesake of her new alcoholic beverage, Delola.
Fans took the opportunity to wish the mother of two a very happy birthday: “Are you sure you are 54? You are so beautiful and look maybe 34 maybe!!!! I hope you had a fabulous birthday!!! Looks like you did!!!” Another praised her, “You are such a queen, your look, the way your make up is done, and how you treat your men. 1st class all the way. J-Lo forever.”
Among the almost 12.5 thousand wishes were a handful of trolls who charged the American Idol judge with comments like, “What an attention hog.”
A few days later, the star of the Wedding Planner shared more photos on Instagram, where she appears in a blue bikini with a matching paisley coverup, and “Barbie World,” by Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj (with Aqua) playing in the background.
Netizens were divided, the majority saying she looks gorgeous. “HOLY omg she is just heaven. aging like a fine wine…Still Hot in her 50s. what a stunning woman.” Others decided the images were too much: “She is stunning… but this is a bit trashy for such a strong successful woman,” while a second user writes, “It’s too much, really. It makes you lose class.”
But negative comments won’t keep the singer, actor and business owner from living her best life.
On August 15, she shared her naturally glowing, makeup-free face, and showed fans how she gets ready in the morning. She captioned the post: “No filter. ALL. ME. at 54, glowing and happy.”
“I just had a birthday and I feel better than ever…for anybody that says JLo doesn’t use her own products on her skin, I call BS on you right now,” the pop culture icon says in the clip, explaining that she’s worn sunscreen since she was in her 20s and that she does use her own beauty line, JLo Beauty. Before signing off with a “Bye,” she said, “There are no filters and no retouching on this video.”
But the cyber community was not buying what the star of Hustlers was selling, and many called her “dishonest.”
“Jlo, I think you are absolutely stunning, I love your music, your movies, I am a huge fan. but I am really disappointed that you are not honest about your skin routine…to think at 54 you are suggesting that this skin care keeps your skin so fabulous, is so dishonest of you, you should either say nothing at all about your skin routine or just be honest to what you do with your face. losing respect for you.”
A lot of her followers agreed with those sentiments. “54 with cosmetic surgery, Botox, fillers and filters. Just stop. So dishonest. You’ll stick to the lie because you believe it yourself but we don’t. Ridiculous Nonsense,” while another writes, “Girl stop it we all know you don’t use your own product not to mention a little Botox. You’re still beautiful. I’m sure you have a filter.”
One jumped in to defend “Jenny from the Block” and commented, “You are 54 years old and you are so natural and beautiful girl, it’s natural for people to envy you and hate you.”
But it’s not all just about her. The “Waiting for Tonight” singer turned the spotlight on Affleck, whom she married July 16, 2022, and honored him on his 51st birthday.
On August 15 Lopez shared a sweet video of the pair singing along to Sam Cooke’s “(What A) Wonderful World.”
“Dear Ben … Happy Birthday. I love you!” Lopez wrote in the caption of the post that showed Affleck driving while she leaned back in the passenger seat, her hair blowing in the wind.
The post, that has 1.1 million views, attracted scores of romantics who praised the love shared between the two. “True love always finds it’s way back,” writes one while another adds, “You two are the reason why I believe in true love.”
It really is sad that trolls always find their way into posts with their toxic comments. We think Jennifer Lopez is absolutely stunning and her ageless beauty is an inspiration to live a healthy lifestyle.
