Even when they’re physically apart, Jenny McCarthy, 50, and Donnie Wahlberg, 54, are always together.
During an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, McCarthy explained how she and Wahlberg are able to keep the honeymoon phase going even after being married for nearly a decade.
“We’ve done the work, and we date,” she said. “We do fun things together, we find that private time to have that fun.”
The Masked Singer judge also shared the sweet way the couple keeps in touch even when they find themselves apart.
“We FaceTime 10 times a day. We’ll FaceTime sleep next to each other.”
McCarthy said the two leave their phones on “all night long,” unless the signal is bad.
“He is right there, snoring on that pillow.”
When they’re not traveling and they find themselves sharing a bed for the night, she explained that “sometimes it’s about shutting off the TV at night and just talking.”
McCarthy and Wahlberg first met in 2012 while on the set of Watch What Happens Live. The following year they crossed paths again when Wahlberg appeared on McCarthy VH1 talk show.
They began dating shortly after, and by April 2014 they announced they were engaged.
In August 2014, the couple exchanged vows.
Every year since they first tied the knot, they’ve renewed their vows and commemorated the occasion with a heartfelt tribute on social media.
“As I reflect on our journey, I feel honored, grateful and blessed that I get to live inside the greatest love story ever lived,” McCarthy wrote last month. “I’m grateful for your kindness that touches every soul you meet, and the love that has become the very heartbeat of my existence. As each passing year passes, I fall in love with you all over again. With you, every moment is a treasure, every memory is a masterpiece, and every day is a celebration of the beautiful love we share.”
