Given the overwhelming surge of speculation regarding Kanye West and Bianca Censori in the aftermath of their Grammys stunt, it was only a matter of time before people began to gossip regarding the stability of their seemingly unconventional union.
For those who missed it – if there’s anyone who did – the pair shocked the Grammys, and indeed the world, when Bianca Censori dropped the fur coat she was wearing to reveal an outfit that was practically non-existent.
Her near-nude wardrobe choice became arguably the most talked-about topic in the world in the days following, with Kanye himself writing any number of (since-deleted) social media posts in reaction to the backlash.
Fast forward almost two weeks and we’ve got something of an interesting update on the whole debacle, with a spokesperson for Kanye and Censori having released a statement following rumors that the latter had finally “had enough” and was going to split from the rapper.
It will perhaps come as no surprise that Kanye – now formally going as Ye – is embroiled in other controversies, with the 47-year-old currently being sued by a former employee for antisemitism and misogyny, as well as having been reportedly dropped from his talent agency.
The rapper is also catching heat for attempting to sell t-shirts emblazoned with swastikas after an advert he made for the Super Bowl.
Needless to say, trouble at home is likely not what Ye wants or needs just now, but a number of media outlets have speculated over the past few days that he and Censori’s marriage is on the rocks.
As reported by the Mail Online, a source ‘close to the rapper’ seemingly confirmed that the pair had broken up and are set to imminently file for divorce. Censori allegedly stood to receive a payment of $5 million.
Another insider told Page Six meanwhile: [Censori’s] had enough. The swastika shirt [he was selling] was the last straw. She told him that’s not who she is, and that she can’t be associated with that. He’s saying that he has dominion over her and then he’s selling those shirts. It reflects on her, and she doesn’t want any part of that circus.”
In response to the rumors, Milo Yiannopolous, a representative of Ye and Censori, released the following statement to the Independent:
“Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together. Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumor in the tabloid press.
“Is this the fifth or is it the sixth time the press has wrongly reported that Ye and Bianca are separating? I’ve lost track.”
