Donald Trump gives harsh new nickname to Justin Trudeau

Donald Trump has taken another jab at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, unveiling a new nickname for the world leader in a post on Truth Social.

The US president has a long history of criticizing the Canadian prime minister, but this latest nickname has caused a bit of a stir.

Trump’s comment comes amid the recent trade wars, whereby the US President signed off on an order to impose tariffs, not only to Canada, but to Mexico and China.

This was in a bid to hold the countries ‘accountable’ for what Trump says is their failed promise to halt the flood drugs into the US.

A 25 percent tariff has been applied to all goods imported from the countries, with Canadian energy products receiving a further 10 percent tariff.

Trump even suggested that Canada could dodge the tariff by becoming the 51st US state, causing Trudeau to hit back and suggest that Canada would retaliate with their own tariffs.

It comes as no surprise, therefore, that Trump has also resorted to brutal nicknames – and the Canadian Prime Minister is not exempt.

As reported by UNILAD, Trump referred to Trudeau as the “Governor” of Canada, rather than the Prime Minister.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump wrotre: “Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a retaliatory tariff on the U.S., our reciprocal tariff will immediately increase by a like amount!”

Trudeau slammed Trump in his response, whereby he stated (via AP News): “Today, the United States launched a trade war against Canada, their closest partner and ally, their closest friend. At the same time, they are talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin, a lying, murderous dictator. Make that make sense.”

He then added: “I want to speak directly to one specific American, Donald. It’s not in my habit to agree with the Wall Street Journal, but Donald, they point out that even though you’re a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do.”

Trump’s latest attack on Trudeau is just one of many instances in which he has assigned nicknames to political opponents. From “Sleepy Joe” for Joe Biden to “Little Marco” for Marco Rubio, Trump’s habit of branding rivals with derogatory monikers has become a signature part of his political style.

As Trump continues in the White House, it’s likely that his public feuds with world leaders — including Trudeau — will only continue.
