Melania Trump is continuing to promote her own cryptocurrency, which has been criticized by experts. Meanwhile, a new video of her has sparked some quite crazy speculations about time traveling.
The President and First Lady of the United States, Donald and Melania Trump, released their own cryptocurrencies shortly after returning to the White House earlier this year.
They were both criticized for it, as many stated they were using the presidency as a way of putting more money into their own accounts.
Donald Trump released his first, and on the eve of Inauguration Day, Melania followed suit with ‘$Melania’. At its release, it had a market value of around $1.7 billion, prompting many to take a leap of faith and invest in it. However, just months later, things looked very bleak for the coin as it headed straight to a crash.
The cryptocurrency Donald and Melania released was called a “meme coin.” It could be launched—or created—by anyone, and as of today, thousands exist. At the time, the President and First Lady’s cryptocurrencies entered the top 100 coins by value.
However, while Donald and Melania perhaps wanted to make an extra buck, they received hefty criticism.
Melania Trump criticized over cryptocurrency
“This may represent the single worst conflict of interest in the modern history of the presidency,” Norman Eisen, a former ethics adviser to the Obama administration, told the Washington Post, adding that Trump has “the most profound conflict of interest” in the crypto market and that he is “seeking to gain” and regulate the industry.
Analysts at The Kobeissi Letter, a leading commentary platform on the global capital markets, stated on X that Donald and Melania’s release of cryptocurrencies was “beyond insane.”
“Less than 48 hours ago, Donald Trump launched $ Trump which just erased $7.5bn in market cap in 10 minutes. In the minutes around the launch of Melania Trump’s token, we saw massive sell orders in $ Trump,” it said.
In less than two months 6, Melania’s cryptocurrency had lost 92% of its value since its release. Meanwhile, Donald’s has seen a price drop of around 75% from its all-time high. In August, the value of the first lady’s coin had dropped by a staggering 98%.
But Melania refused to give up on her cryptocurrency. Ten months after its release, Melania decided to push Americans to buy more of it. On Thursday, through her social media channels, the First Lady published an AI-generated video that referred to the token as a path “into the future.”
Melania Trump’s latest crypto-promo sparks ‘time travel’ speculation
However, while the token saw an increase in value after the promo was released, people on social media discussed a completely different issue. Was Melania actually promoting time traveling?
As the AI-generated Melania appeared to teleport into the frame, social media fueled speculations about time traveling.
“Are we gonna get teleportation?!?” one user wrote in the comment section to Melania’s crypto promo video, The Daily Beast first reported
“I’VE SUSPECTED IT ALL ALONG… THE FEELING HAS BEEN VERY STRONG! WILL WE BE ABLE TO TIME TRAVEL SOON? CUZ I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK TO WHEN WE LANDED ON THE MOON… AND BE CALLED THE FIRST CONSPIRACY THEORIST FOR CALLING OUT [THEIR] BULLS–T,” one user commented.
“Bring on the portals, stargates and transporters.I’m 100% ready for our Star Trek future!!!!” another user wrote, while a fourth added, “I want to go into the future with you. take us to the infinite!”
Everyone wasn’t on board. Users noticed that President Donald Trump was absent from the video, leading to comments about Melania not wanting to be associated with him.
“Even @MELANIATRUMP envisions a future without Trump…” one user commented.
