Alarming new update on The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron

The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron, 41, remains on life support.

His family has now provided a worrying update on his condition as the actor continues to battle for his life in the hospital.

Actor Quinton Aaron, who shot to fame opposite Sandra Bullock in the acclaimed film The Blind Side, is currently on life support at the age of 41. In recent years, Aaron has faced health challenges, and now his condition has taken a serious turn.

According to reports, he was rushed to a hospital in Atlanta last week after his legs suddenly gave out while he was walking in his apartment.

Earlier in the week, on January 26, his wife Margarita told TMZ that he had opened his eyes and even gave a thumbs up.

However, new concerns have emerged. Doctors just discovered a rare cyst on his spine while running a series of tests, TMZ reports. Further examinations are needed to determine whether the growth is benign.

GoFundMe

His family has said that Aaron may need back surgery, which could require “extensive physical therapy” and might leave him “confined to a wheelchair” for the foreseeable future.

A GoFundMe page was set up shortly after he was hospitalized, describing his situation as “sudden, frightening and overwhelming” for his loved ones.

The page also highlighted the financial strain of his medical care: “As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden — medical expenses, living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”

The fundraiser continued: “Quinton has spent his life inspiring others, reminding us that compassion and humanity still matter in this world. Now, as he fights one of the hardest battles of his life, let’s surround him with that same love.”

Margarita Aaron told Fox News that he is “making significant progress” and has “little moments where he’s moving his fingers or trying to open his eyes.”

She added, “Although he seemed like he was a little lucid, he was not very responsive. I did at least get a thumbs up out of him when I chatted with him, which was promising. At this point, the endotracheal tube or the breathing assistance that he has is not doing all the work, thankfully.”

As mentioned, Aaron is best known for his role as NFL star Michael Oher in the Oscar-nominated 2009 film The Blind Side, starring alongside Sandra Bullock.

This latest health scare follows a previous hospitalization in March of last year, when Aaron was treated for Type A flu and pneumonia after developing a fever and coughing up blood.

Praying for complete healing and speedy recovery, Quinton!
