Actor Shia LaBeouf was allegedly kicked out of a business because of a disturbance. According to a police statement, “Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf who used his closed fists on the victim several times. The victims reported that LaBeouf left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive”
According to officials, multiple people reported having held down LaBeouf before releasing him, after which he allegedly hit the same victim again.
The statement from officials said that the actor had ‘assaulted another person’ by ‘punching him in the nose’.
“LaBeouf was again held down until police arrived,” the statement said.
39-year-old actor was taken to the hospital to treat his ‘unknown injuries’ beforehe was arrested. He has been charged with two counts of simple battery, according to police records.
The circumstances leading up to the incident are currently unclear. The incident happened on ‘Fat Tuesday’, which is the last day of Mardi Gras celebrations. The day marks the last day before Lent begins, which is 40 days before Easter Sunday.
Last year, the actor spoke about his journey being sober after he had been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs, who sued him for the fact in 2020.
The dispute was settled out of court last year, with LaBeouf saying at the time he had been ‘abusive to myself and everyone around me for years.’
He added, “I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt.”
He added, “I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations… I am not cured of my PTSD and alcoholism, but I am committed to doing what I need to do to recover, and I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way.”
