Bridgerton fans adore the show, and a lot of them truly enjoy the steamy moments the series has to offer. However, in the latest season, the lead actress did not particularly enjoy filming one such scene.

Yerin Ha, who plays Sophie Baek in the latest season of Netflix’s mega-hit Bridgerton. She shared that while filming a scene, she actually began suffering a painful skin condition after shooting a bathtub sequence alongside co-star Luke Thompson, who plays her love interest of Benedict Bridgerton.

This new season focuses on Benedict Bridgerton and his complicated relationship with Sophie Baek. Baek is a maid who has noble roots, which she is hiding. In the first half of the season, Benedict is attracted to a mysterious masked woman who later turns out to be Sophie in disguise.

The romance between the characters grows as the season goes on. As always, the storyline leans heavily into tension and emotional scenes. One scene in particular, however, caught a lot of people’s attention.

The scene where Benedict and Sophie are in a bathtub. While on-screen, the scene looks effortless, behind the scenes, it seems the whole thing was a bit of a struggle.

“There’s a scene where we are in a bathtub and basically I put baby powder all on me because I was told it would help dry my skin to put the intimacy wear on with my tape,” Yerin revealed in an interview

“And then basically the next day after the bathtub, I got hives all over my body and got folliculitis and needed steroid cream!” she revealed.

According to online sources, folliculitis is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become inflamed due to a bacterial infection. A form which is linked to warm or contaminated water is often referred to as bath tub rash, or Pseudomonas folliculitis.

Ha thinks the situation was caused by various factors. “But I blame myself. Because I think it was a combination of baby powder and the bath water,” she said.

Luke Thompson, the actor playing Benedict, also revealed that the two of them had been submerged in the tub for six or seven hours while they were filming, alluding to the fact that perhaps the extended time they were in the water caused the condition.

“But you were fine!” the actress said with a laugh. “So it’s me. I’m a sensitive gal.”
