As tensions rise between the United States and Iran, a lot of Americans are rallying to get the President’s youngest son, 19-year-old Barron Trump, to serve in the military.
The campaign gained so much steam that the hashtag #SendBarron began to trend on social media. The people participating in the trend wanted Barron to display the same level of patriotism expected of other young Americans in times of conflict.
One person posted on X, “Why not demonstrate that Trump family spirit of patriotism and sacrifice by sending Barron to fight Iran?” while another added, “At least someone from the Trump family should demonstrate how patriotic they are by serving instead of grifting.”
Now, an old video of President Donald Trump has resurfaced, where he talks about his youngest child’s affinity for technology. He said in the interview from last year, “He can look at a computer… I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back about five minutes later, he’s got his laptop, I say, ‘How do you do that?’
“He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” he added about his teenage son.
What was meant to be praise for his son’s technological aptitude soon became a funny clip, with netizens making jokes about the situation.
One person wrote on X, “This is exactly how my grandma looks at me when I fix the TV by switching the input.” Another added, “basically said “he knows how to switch his laptop on” id hope so, he’s a twenty something year old in the 21st century”
Another person hilariously added, “This how my dad reacts when I turn on Netflix for him.”
“He’s mastered light switches and door knobs as well,” another wrote.
While people rally on social media to get Barron Trump enlisted in the army, it seems the 19-year-old might not qualify for it anyway. The reason being that he is 6 feet 9 inches tall, which is too tall for most roles in the military. He will be unable take on roles such as working with tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft.
The current limit for joining the Army is a maximum of 6 feet 8 inches for certain roles.
