Alan Ritchson, who is best known for playing Jack Reacher on the hit show ‘Reacher,’ has revealed the truth about a confrontation with a neighbor that got quite ugly.

A video of Alan Ritchson went viral over the weekend, showing him fighting with his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor. The pair first engaged in a verbal fight late last week, on March 21, with Taylor complaining that the actor’s sports bike was too loud, especially as he revved his engine in the quiet Tennessee suburb. The matter became more heated the next day as Ritchson was riding his bike with his kids.

In bodycam footage shared on social media, Taylor can be seen stepping in front of Ritchson’s bike deliberately to stop the ride. In the three-minute video, Ritchson can be seen falling from his bike after Taylor suddenly steps into his path.

“You threatened my f***ing safety, bro!” the 43-year-old actor tells his neighbor, who warns Ritchson that he has called the cops.

“You were driving around this f***ing neighborhood like a f***ing lunatic,” Taylor retorts. A frustrated Ritchson asks his neighbor whether he is “drunk” as they continue their argument. Then Ritchson makes his way back to his bike and revs his engine several times before asking his neighbor to “f***ing move.”

When Taylor does not move out of the way and instead pushes his bike twice, the actor shoves him to the ground. He then kicks and punches Taylor, telling him to “stay down.”

As he gets up, Taylor tells the actor, “By the way, all on camera. You a**aulting me is all on camera.”

Ritchson then leaves on his bike. The incident was then under investigation, with law enforcement looking into it. Ritchson’s representatives did not comment on the incident however Taylor spoke to TMZ.

He said to the outlet that he is an “experienced motorcycle rider. I’ve been riding most of my life.”

He said that when Ritchson first passed through his neighborhood on Saturday, he had calmly asked him to “slow it down.”

He said he did not know Ritchson was a famous actor, and the next day, as he was cleaning his bike, the actor drove past him twice.

“On the second time, I walked outside and said, ‘You’ve got to stop.’” He admitted to pushing Ritchson off his bike, but only because he claimed that he “was coming towards” him with his vehicle. He said he then pushed the actor a second time, which then prompted the actor to “kick the c**p” out of him.

“He hit me in the back of my head [and] I went to the ground and covered myself,” Taylor said about the altercation.

In a picture that he shared with the outlet, he showed bruises he had gotten on his forehead, left jaw, and chin as a result of the altercation.

Alan Ritchson did not speak to the press about the incident, but seemed to address it indirectly on Instagram by posting a quote attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte: “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

Now, Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin has confirmed that the actor will not face charges, as his actions fell within the bounds of self-defense and he did not initiate the fight.

“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense,” Pepin said to the media.

He further added that the prosecutors considered filing a potential reckless endangerment charge but decided against it. Ritchson did not press charges against his neighbor either.
