Kim Kardashian is reportedly struggling with a difficult reality as her daughter North West approaches her teenage years already living a level of fame most adults would find overwhelming.

With North West set to turn 13 on June 15, she’s no longer simply known as the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Over the past few years, she has become a celebrity in her own right, building a massive social media following while stepping into music, fashion, and business ventures before even reaching her teens.
As North’s profile continues growing, Kim has faced increasing criticism online, with some accusing her of allowing her daughter to enter the spotlight far too early.
Still, insiders claim Kardashian believes the situation was almost unavoidable given the family’s level of fame.
“Kim would actually prefer it if her kids weren’t so in the spotlight, but she knows that isn’t realistic,” a source said. “That’s why she’s preparing them all to be self-sufficient financially and exploit their nepo baby status.”
According to the insider, Kim reportedly sees North’s rise to fame as inevitable and believes the real issue is making sure her daughter benefits from it herself rather than allowing others to profit from her name.
North was introduced to the public almost immediately after birth, first appearing in a close-up photo as a two-month-old baby wrapped in white blankets.
By the time she was still a toddler, she had already entered elite celebrity and fashion circles, reportedly attending lunches with Anna Wintour, sitting front row at New York Fashion Week, appearing in Vogue, modeling for CR Fashion Book, and making appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
As she got older, her public profile only expanded.
At age four, she landed magazine covers. By six, she was performing vocals at Kanye West’s Paris Fashion Week show. At ten, she performed on stage during The Lion King concert event.
Now, North’s career activities reportedly extend far beyond social media.
According to reports, she has been removed from private school and transitioned to home tutoring to allow more flexibility for music and fashion projects.

She also shares a TikTok account with Kim Kardashian that has reportedly grown to more than 21 million followers.
At the same time, multiple business trademarks tied to North have already been filed.
Earlier this year, Kardashian reportedly submitted a federal trademark application through KimYe’s Kid Inc. for North’s developing brand, NOR11 — a name combining the first three letters of North’s name with the age she was when she first began creating the concept.
The filing reportedly covers products including clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry, and cosmetics.
“Kim knows North is going to be a star, so the trademarks are practical,” the insider claimed. “It’s her way of beating anyone hoping to cash in on her fame by trademarking her name to the chase.”
Kim has also admitted publicly that balancing motherhood with North’s rapidly growing career has been difficult.
The reality star shares four children with Kanye West — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm — but North’s ambitions have already pushed Kim into a role many compare to her own mother Kris Jenner’s famous “momager” position.
Speaking on The Kardashians, Kim explained that she carefully monitors North’s livestreams and online activity.
“She’s not doing anything without me being right there the whole time,” Kardashian said.
On another episode of the Hulu series, she admitted she wasn’t prepared for how quickly North’s interests would evolve professionally.
“Me having to be her momager right now is crazy,” Kardashian said. “It’s just, it was not on my list. It was not on my Bingo card for this year. And I’m not ready…”
Kim also acknowledged feeling conflicted about how to balance opportunities with a normal childhood.

“I’m really conflicted on my daughter’s career,” she explained. “I just really want to make sure that everything’s really well balanced. All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.”
That balancing act has reportedly become more complicated as North’s projects continue expanding.
She recently released her debut six-track EP, N0rth4evr, which reportedly includes songs addressing the pressures and downsides of growing up famous.
According to insiders, the project earned an advance “well over seven figures,” though reports claim the money is being held in a trust for North to access as an adult.
North has also launched an online merchandise store connected to the project, selling products including arm warmers, shirts, accessories, and jewelry-inspired items.
The EP arrived shortly after she debuted her single Piercing on My Hand alongside Kanye West during an appearance in Mexico City.
The pair also performed Kanye’s song Only One, which was originally written for North, as well as tracks including Talking and Bomb.
Beyond her work with Kanye, North has reportedly collaborated with several artists and contributed to music production projects.
Singer FKA Twigs has publicly referred to North as a friend, while Chance the Rapper praised her talent during The Gordon Parks Foundation Gala on May 19.
“She’s an incredibly talented artist,” Chance said. “Everything I’ve heard from her is amazing… very vibrant and well put together. She’s an inventor.”
Still, the praise has been matched by growing criticism online.
North’s outspoken personality and bold fashion choices have frequently sparked debate across social media. She has gone viral multiple times for yelling at paparazzi, confidently referring to herself as “the best ever,” and embracing dramatic fashion choices, including blue hair, grills, finger piercings, fake face tattoos, and colored contact lenses.
Some critics argue she is being exposed to fame far too young, while others have questioned whether her success is being driven primarily by nepotism and her parents’ influence in the entertainment industry.
“I won’t be a bit surprised when we find out later that she gets herself into a world of trouble because she was given so much so soon,” one commenter wrote online.
Reports also claim North is currently working with Gamma, the entertainment company founded by former Apple executive Larry Jackson.
Jackson, who reportedly helped Kanye release his recent album Bully despite years of controversy surrounding the rapper, is said to be closely involved in North’s developing music career.
“North is currently working with Larry, who has been behind the careers of Fantasia, Leona Lewis and signed Lana Del Rey,” the insider said. “The label is also home to fellow nepo babies Willow and Jaden Smith.”
