Norwegian Crown Prince shares major update on his wife’s deteriorating health

The Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon has shared a devastating update on his wife, Mette-Marit’s, deteriorating health. She has suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, but in recent weeks, things have gotten worse.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been suffering from pulmonary fibrosis for a long time. The condition causes progressive lung carring and increased difficulty breathing. Sadly, there is no cure.

Mette-Marit was diagnosed in 2018, and since then, she has several times taken a step back from her royal duties as she continues to battle the illness.

Recently, she has even been wearing an oxygen mask to help her breathe. A few days ago, Crown Prince Haakon, who is first in the line of succession in Norway, shared with local media that his wife’s health is deteriorating rapidly.

He said, “The Crown Princess is gravely ill, and I find that her condition has deteriorated significantly recently. So, I’m worried about her health. She uses oxygen daily, and that helps a bit, but it’s obviously not an entirely satisfactory solution.”

The Royal Family shared news in December last year that Crown Princess Mette-Marit might even need to undergo a lung transplant. Besides her health struggles, she has also had a few very challenging months as her son, Marius Borg Høiby, has been the center of attention in a disturbing court case.

Marius is facing a shocking list of accusations that have created shockwaves through Norway. Høiby has been charged with 32 offenses, including alleged rape, abuse against a former partner in a close relationship, violent acts against another woman, death threats, and several traffic-related violations.

The high-profile seven-week trial concluded in March, and since then, Høiby has remained in an Oslo prison awaiting the court’s final ruling and sentencing.

In May, Høiby reportedly asked to be released from prison in Oslo and allowed to stay at a royal residence while awaiting his sentence. However, the court rejected the request.

Still, the negative news surrounding them didn’t stop there. During the explosive trial, another disturbing revelation rocked the Norwegian royal family as it emerged that Mette-Marit had previously been friends with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Her name appeared in the Epstein Files with disturbing documents showing emails between Mette-Marit and Epstein, revealing they had contact over several years.

Just weeks after the shocking news, Mette-Marit broke the silence, saying she felt she had been “manipulated and decieved” by Epstein. She added, “I wish I had never met him.”
