56-year-old actress and singer Jennifer Lopez attended the premiere of her new rom-com Office Romance on Tuesday, May 26, where she appeared in a black Versace gown.
The “Let’s Get Loud” singer wore her hair long and straight while pairing the look with smoky bronze-toned makeup.
Shortly after the event, Jennifer Lopez shared several photos and videos from the premiere on Instagram.
However, many social media users quickly pointed out how different her appearance looked compared to untouched images captured by professional photographers at the event.
In the content shared to Instagram, Lopez’s skin appeared noticeably airbrushed and glowy, with flushed cheeks and softened facial features.
“When filters cannot help,” one user wrote on X while comparing Lopez’s Instagram upload to an unedited red carpet photo.
The untouched images showed more natural signs of aging, including wrinkles around her eyes, forehead, and mouth.
“It’s not horrible except she always uses filters so when you see the unfiltered version” one user wrote. One person wrote, “It would be the right time for JLo to embrace aging, not twerk her way out of it.”
One person defended her, writing, “She looks good for her age actually.” “Jlo looks amazing for her age. Real skin has texture. Stop trying to shame mature women,” another added.
“She looks her age and that’s ok” another voice added.
The online conversation also reignited long-running speculation about whether Lopez has ever undergone cosmetic procedures.
Over the years, the actress and singer has repeatedly denied getting Botox or plastic surgery.
Back in 2021, Lopez directly responded to a social media user who accused her of having “definitely” used Botox.
“LOL thats just my face!!! For the 500 millionth time… I have never done Botox or any injectable or surgery!! Just sayin’ 😊,” Lopez replied at the time.
She also clarified that she has “nothing against” cosmetic procedures but said they have never personally appealed to her.
“It’s just not my thing,” she explained.
Instead, Lopez has consistently credited skincare and non-invasive beauty treatments for maintaining her appearance.
“I want the hyaluronic acid in there. I want the things that are going to help, because I don’t want to have to go to the needles at some point. I’m not saying one day I won’t, but I haven’t yet,” she previously said.
Lopez has also spoken openly about how aging changed her confidence over time.
In a 2017 interview with W Magazine, she admitted she felt far more secure in herself than she did during her twenties.
“Men in their 20s are very confident and cocky, and women are super-insecure. And then it flips: Men get super-insecure, and women get comfortable in their own skin, in a way that makes them more beautiful,” Lopez said.
She added, “I never appreciated my body or my looks when I was in my 20s. Now I’m like, Look at me! Look at you! Not in a conceited or arrogant way — I just appreciate myself in a way I didn’t when I was that age.”
“And it’s not about perfection. I like the scars that I have,” she continued.
In Office Romance, Lopez stars opposite Ted Lasso actor Brett Goldstein.
The Netflix rom-com follows Lopez’s character, Jackie Cruz, a major airline CEO who begins a secret romance with a newly hired employee played by Goldstein.

Speaking to People, Lopez praised her co-star and revealed she was surprised by how different he was from his Ted Lasso character Roy Kent.
“I expected more of a rough guy, but you get this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming. That was a surprise, I think,” she admitted.
Lopez also revealed the Hollywood movie was specifically written with her in mind.
According to the actress, Goldstein and co-writer Joe Kelly told her the film would not move forward without her involvement.
“It’s like a little bit edgier than a normal J.Lo rom-com in a way, but it has all the DNA of a classic romantic comedy that you love,” Lopez explained.
The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on June 5 and also stars Betty Gilpin, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, Edward James Olmos, and Bradley Whitford.
